Hello, I’m R N Sundara Rajan
I photograph birds, light, and small stories of the wild. My journey began in 1975 with a Nikon FM film camera. Five decades later—through F60, D200, D7000, D4, D850, D500, Z6ii, and now the Z9—the lessons remain the same: be patient, stay kind, and let the subject lead.
I started with people and their emotions; today I spend most mornings with birds in and around Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Ethical birding is love in practice—observe from a distance, read moods, never disturb nests, and leave every place gentler than you found it. The photographs here are my thank‑you notes to the landscapes and teachers (human and winged) that shaped me.
What I do
Birds & Behaviors: Feeding, nesting, flight, courtship—moments that reveal character.
Portraits: People, expressions, and the honest light of everyday life.
Stories: Short field notes that pair images with memory.
